The upcoming Qiddiya Development is going to have a New Botanical feature.

More than just the beauty of the greenery, the new garden is in fact the most advance sewage treatment and reuse facility, pioneer in the Kingdom, featuring Nelson Environmental Inc.-Organica Innovative Food Chain Reactor (FCR) technology. We are specialised and masters in delivering the patented wastewater treatment technologies with over 8,400 global references among which over 120 iconic FCR references many of which had achieved global awards. The FCR is a nature-based solution that combines natural plants with engineered media to provide a compact, energy efficient, odourless and aesthetically pleasing treatment facility.
The combination of the natural plant roots and the engineered media creates a habitat inside the FCR biological reactors with an incredibly diverse and robust biomass, the living organisms that are responsible for purifying the wastewater. This enhanced biomass environment offers significantly improved treatment capacity, nutrient removal, energy efficiency, and resiliency, all in much less space than conventional technologies

While the reduction of size means less construction, the nature based appeal means Our treatment plant can be located front-of-house as a community feature, in new high prestige residential and commercial developments, in already built environments downtown, or as garden parks in urban communities.
Thanks to the aesthetical appearance of NEI-Organica facilities, looking more of an iconic building with a botanical look-and-feel, NEI-Organica facility are typically referred to as Wastewater Resource Gardens.
In Qiddiya, the NEI-Organica Water Resource Garden is designed to treat and reuse up to 22,000 cubic meters per day, equivalent to the water consumption of +50,000 habitants. The FCR water resource Garden shall treat 100% of the wastewater generated from Southwestern Districts within Qiddiya and received from neighboring Municipalities of Dhurma and Al Muzahmiya.
And it will do so in a sustainable manner, saving more than 30% of the energy required byconventional wastewater treatment systems, hence contributing with the environmentalobjectives and circular economy vision of the Kingdom for 2030.

While OPEX and CAPEX benefits mean Organica is a ‘best of class’ solution, the Food Chain Reactor technology means the NEI-Organica plant provides a robust and stable treatment process offering more consistent performance and greater potential for turning unwanted discharges into valuable resources.
While Organica has more than 100 installations worldwide, the Qiddiya Water Resource Garden will be the pioneer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, leading the way forward in sewage treatment and reuse, adopting a truly sustainable, nature-based solution, contributing to the 2030 vision of the Kingdom in water security and environmental protection.
